After passed over the river on border of Senegal, the climate change very dry. Welcome desert country ! 

Beautiful red desert between Senegal border and capital Nouakchott.  

I stayed at Istanbul Hotel owned by kind Turkish owner. Nice restaurant. Octopus salad and meat pasta.  

Very nice breakfast at Istanbul Hotel.

Desert city. Pedestrian is sand. Dangerous to walk on wheelchair.

Many trash on street. Not so clean. 

Some street are clean and modern. The city is developing so quickly. Also bigger and bigger.

Many beggars with disability on street. Sometime they stay in the middle of road... 

Moroccan cuisine Tajine Chicken lunch.

Barber in Mauritania. Mauritania population is half Arabic and half Black African. Therefore Mauritanian barber used to cut straight hair. I cut my hair and shaved beard on the last day of this 1 month west Africa journey.

Dinner on street. Nice kebab restaurant run by Egyptian and avocado shake. This kebab shop open 19:00 - 05:00.

Many shops and restaurant open only at night. People go shopping and eating at night because of too hot in a day time. Many cars at night. Generally it is safe to walk at night in Mauritania. Night city.

New Nouakchott airport has wheelchair accessible toilets.
