5 days at " Milestone " office, center of independent Living for person with disabilities  /  2012

I passed the border from Amritsar India. Only one border between India and Pakistan, but no tourist there. I did not see any other people who pass the border. Normally the border was busy, but here was not. When I arrived at Pakistan immigration, milestone member waited there and took a video.

Mile stone changed Pakistan society. They lifted up the right of person with disability. They produced functional modern 150,000 wheelchairs and plan 1,000,000 wheelchairs to all Pakistan people with disability. This wheelchair is not donated by other countries. This is made in Pakistan. Also they produced hand controls.

Lahore airport wheelchair toilet. Milestone advised the accessibility. Good job !!

3 wheel motor is people's transportation. 

We visited Lahore fort. Some barrier on tourist spots. My friends still took a video. Video is easy to explain for everybody. Which is accessible ?  What is accessibility ?  What is problem for wheelchair user ?

No ramp at the Badshahi Mosque. I hope they make it in future.

One member invited us a nice lunch at his home. He became a wheelchair by robbery gun shoot. Now he succeed his business (super market) and enjoy his life. He is a role model of Pakistan wheelchair.

Important meeting was held during my stay. Political rights of person with disabilities. I joined as an international guest. Some steps at entrance of hotel. Milestone member like to go barrier full place because it is a good chance to change it.

Noisy city and market. Many vegetables and fruits. No traffic rule. Be careful for bike and car.

Short trip to natural sight. We stayed a public hotel, but no accessibility. We were the first wheelchair guest.

I drove a car in Pakistan for about 1 hour. It was exciting !

Salt mine Khewra. Pretty tram was out of order. So I just walk inside for minutes.

At Lahore airport, Air Blue wanted me to pay special handling fee 3,675 Pakistan Rupee = 40 US$. 
I must go out side and visit their office. It was not easy to explain security. Also their office received cash only. 
One kind airport worker helped me to go out of airport and change US$ to Pakistan Rupee. 
Air Blue is LCC low cost career airplane company. I can understand the extra charge. 
But no step and boarding bridge at Lahore airport. I did not use lift car. 
They gave me 1st line seat. I move to my seat without any help.

At Dubai airport, they brought my wheelchair shipside. But nobody comes. No special attendant service. 
Also boarding bridge there. I came out without any help. I wait for 15 minutes at the gate. 
Finally I decided to go by myself. I paid but no help. 
If we use a lift car, I am OK to pay 20US$. LCC airplane company  sometime refuse to get in for not walking passengers.

Milestone made a great effort to accessibility of Lahore airport. There are some wheelchair toilets and no steps inside.
