London / 2009 The view of millennium bridge to St. Paul cathedral. Very accessible. Walking along the south bank of Thames river is great fan.
Almost all the buses in London are accessible. The door is middle. Only one wheelchair is allowed in one bus. People pay the fee on front door, but I always used the middle door. It means payless. London citizen with disability have their " freedom pass " for any public transportation.
One wheelchair friend in London. He also likes traveling. We both used train and tubes. Many steps between train and platform. London was changing better accessibility now.
We went to watch the soccer match England v Belaruse, 2010 World cup qualify by tube. Wembley stadium station is full accessible. But other station have a step and no elevator.
Such a great experience to watch in Wembley. British wheelchair friend got our wheelchair seats. £29 with attendant. Wheelchair seats are located in center of lower seats.
The capacity is 90,000. Very modern huge stadium. England has already passed the qualify. The attendance of this game was 76,897. So many... England played very good and won 3-0. David Beckham played about 30 minutes.
Local people with disability have a RADAR key which is for accessible toilet. One problem. Tourist do not have it. I can not use it, so my friend passed his key. Many place to see in London. Do not miss Westminster Abbey. Entry charge is adult £15.00. It is not cheap but worth to visit. No photo inside. Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin tombs are so interesting. Wheelchair accessible toilet available. We can enter without paying because of wheelchair. I am not sure possible or not for foreign tourists. I was so lucky. Leeds castle. 2 hour from London central by car. Possible to go around by wheelchair. Some ramp in castle. We tried the maze. Very interesting. The exit is with stairs. So we went back to the entrance. A wheelchair accessible shuttle bus exists. Surely we can walk to castle by ourselves.
Scotland / 2001 I went to meet a famous British wheelchair woman. By her handbike, I went around her house.
Not so good food in UK, but beer in pub is outstanding.
Euro star train from London to Paris. New line and train, but a step. Please do not make a step.
